I’m a writer, specifically the writer of this film, and yet, I can’t find the words to describe what it means to me.

I don’t always like advertising, but this kind of projects are the ones that fulfill me, because they end up being everything but advertising:

They make people feel.

And for me that has always been the why       I write.

I feel too much and would love to make people feel what I feel.

Somehow it makes me feel heard. Seen. Understood. And connected to something bigger than just myself.

This project is the proof that the saying:

“Ideas are out there. Go out and live them.” is true.

Thank you, younger self, for playing 73481 beer pong matches on high school, because all those times you wanted to play but had no ping pong ball, you turned the beer cap into a "ball" by bending it. Yes, just like a taco.

Back then I just wanted to play.

Just like in this project.

SAME AS NEVER BEFORE

One of my first memories is the final between Club América and Necaxa.

I remember sitting on the couch, wearing my jersey, ready to go to the stadium with my dad, while my mom argued that a four-year old had no place in a final at Estadio Azteca.

They weren’t going anywhere, so my dad just turned to me and asked: “Do you want to go?”

I said yes.

That day, hearing the roar of the goals and celebrating a championship with thousands of strangers, is the day América became part of my life.

Since then, Club América has been the thread that unites my dad, my brother and me.

So when this project knocked the door, I didn’t have to look far, I just had to look back.

All those memories led me to the headline that would frame a historic three in a row championship for the team of our lives.

REBUILDING MODE ON

Techo

This is a very special one for me. Not only because it was the first one I got recognition from in the industry, but because it represents a younger version of me that I still carry within:          the passionate Rodrigo with a heart full of dreams.

Some of those dreams have now become reality, like working in W+K. And honestly without that 20 year old Rodrigo, I wouldn’t be here today, enjoying, playing and creating.

This project gave me the confidence I needed. It made me believe in my ideas.
